We mostly use acrylics in these classes, but may also use collage and acrylic inks.

Materials

With Acrylic paints I tend to start with the following colours:

Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue/green shade, Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna and Raw Umber.
You can mix a lot of colours with these basics. You may eventually add Cadmium Orange, Naples Yellow, Burnt Umber.

Brushes:
I like to use mainly flat brushes and a small round one for detail. You might like a wider 1-2inch brush to put on a large ground. I then have 3/4, 1/2 inch, down to quite a small brush.

Palette Knife: For impasto work. I prefer one that is quite flexible with a pointed end

Stay Wet palette: This is a plastic covered tray where you have an absorbent material like blotting paper or kitchen roll
on the bottom and then another sheet on the top such as greaseproof paper on which to put the paints. The lid ensures
the paints do not dry out quickly.
